Beth Bender didn't find her way into beauty. She was born into the world that surrounds it.

Growing up, Beth's father was one of New York City's most sought-after commercial film editors, a man whose work took him from Manhattan to Los Angeles and across the globe, and who rarely went without his family by his side. From an early age, Beth understood sets, the lights, the talent, the precision, the standard of excellence that the entertainment world demands without apology. She grew up watching people work at the highest level of their craft. It left a mark.

It was only natural that she found her own place in that world.

For nearly three decades, Beth Bender has worked at the intersection of beauty and performance, the places where skin has nowhere to hide and everything to prove. She trained and worked alongside Bobbi Brown, absorbing the philosophy of skin-first artistry from one of the most respected names in the industry. She worked New York Fashion Week, season after season, backstage in the organized chaos that defines the most demanding runway in the world. She sat in the rooms where the most celebrated faces on earth prepare for their biggest moments,  the Academy Awards, the Grammy Awards, the stages and screens where beauty either holds or it doesn't.

She toured with pop stars. She built looks under lights that expose everything. She learned, deeply, empirically, unforgivingly, what skin actually needs when the stakes are highest.

And she kept running into the same problem.

The products weren't good enough.

Not for her clients. Not for the skin she was working on. Not for the standard she had spent nearly three decades building her reputation on. The formulas that existed were beautiful or clinical, rarely both. The actives were under-dosed or wrong. The results were inconsistent. For a makeup artist who had spent her career working at the highest level, it was simply not acceptable.

In 2016, Beth began formulating her own.

Not as a side project. Not as a hobby. As a commitment to finally build the products her clients deserved, with the clinical actives she knew worked, at the doses that actually delivered results. Every formula from scratch. Every ingredient chosen with the precision of a formulator and the instinct of an artist who has worked on more faces than most scientists ever will.

LKYU Beauty: pronounced Lucky You, is the culmination of that commitment. Nearly thirty years of skin expertise, a decade of clinical formulation, and a lifetime spent in rooms where the standard is never negotiable.
